The Gospel of John is a beautiful book and yet one of the most simple and profound of the Scriptures. Our desire is that we would begin to see the jewels in this book and that we would receive an intense love for the central character of this book: our Lord Jesus Christ. John did not relate as many stories as the authors of the synoptic gospels because this was not his purpose. Most of this gospel contains the discourses of Jesus’ teachings. During the study of this course, let us pray that the Lord open our eyes, for without a doubt, the beauty of this book is like a lovely flower whose petals can be unfolded only by Jesus’ tender and kind hand. Only so shall we see His glory; any other hand that would open these petals would destroy its beauty.
