The book of Ruth is the story of a Moabite woman who became part of the people of Israel and of the line of the Savior. Her story reveals the life through which we must pass to bear the life of Christ. Like Ruth, we were not part of the people of Israel.But when we were born again, we became part of that people. The Lord has a plan for our lives that will lead us to be eternally full of His life and to attain His pleasure. As we study the life of Ruth, we will understand the sovereign way in which God moves, even in adverse circumstances and our errors, so that His eternal will is fulfilled in those who love Him. Her life teaches us diligence, compassion, humility, and determination. It teaches us about the life in the way of the cross and that, at all times, we can only find satisfaction in God, not in Egypt. Ruth chose God above all else. Who will we choose today?
